Responsible for managing all marketing initiatives and product management support for technical packaging and technical applications (Tech Spec) in EMEA. The scope includes the packaging solutions and components such as peel-off membranes and technical applications such as insulation and capacitor foils.

The candidate would be responsible to drive the segment and product strategy and to operationalize it through marketing plans, powerful value propositions tailored to segment & specific customers’ needs and product level technically-rich commercial support to sales. He/She/They will be tasked to identify sustainable leads and nurse existing customer relationships. In addition, the candidate will drive tactical commercial activities supporting sales though the sales funnel


JOB DIMENSIONS & SCOPE



Financial: Annual revenue of approx. €300+M
Process: leadership role with strong influencing and both strategic (long-term) and tactical (short-term) execution
Complexity: Constant Cross-functional coordination and highly diverse portfolio of products & applications
Staff: no direct reports
Scope & Geographical spread: EMEA Tech Spec segment relevant to our evolving portfolio of products



MAJOR CHALLENGES & COMPLEXITIES



Lead and work in cross functional teams across cultures and locations in a highly matrixed internal environment. Being viewed as the subject matter expert across applications and having the ability to influence and drive the agenda without authority is key to succeed, both towards peers and senior stakeholders. Ensure long-term strategic outcomes are achieved through solid strategic process, diligent execution, while managing the short-term needs of the business


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


Vertical Development: manage the performance and profitable growth of specific market verticals
  • Deliver the where to play and how to win strategy of Medical & Pharma market verticals with a 1-5 year financial goals.
  • Define with R&D and Customers the Innovation Roadmap for vertical to secure its long-term business health
  • Lead the internal alignment and implementation of those plans in the market
  • Prioritize initiatives to meet financial and strategic marketing objectives
  • Manage performance of the verticals on behalf of Marketing and the Healthcare BU

Healthcare BU Development: execute marketing and business development activities supporting BU capabilities
  • Be the “champion” for the Healthcare verticals – recognized “expert” and “leader”, set vertical direction and goals, manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, engaging all relevant stakeholders
  • Manage the products and brands in the verticals, ensuring the best product mix to maximize financial performance (profitability and growth), balancing regional and site perspectives
  • Work with all stakeholders across Europe to manage/allocate resources and activities to support vertical’s marketing plans
  • Lead a team of Sales and R&D and project manage the Pipeline of Opportunities, the delivery of Value Proposition and revenue impact.

Customer Development: engage and build relationship with marketing peers at Customers
  • Become the key point of contact for our Customer’s Marketing team
  • Define, manage and deliver Innovation Day meetings together with Customer’s Marketing teams.
  • Identify areas of further growth and decision making power of the Marketing function of our customers to support Value creation.

Market Research / Business Intelligence
  • Pro-actively evaluate Medica & Pharma vertical needs, competitive forces, disruptive / emerging technologies and offerings
  • Acquire solid understanding of customers’ current and future needs
  • Work alongside sales and technical community to monitor latest industry and competitive products and programs
  • Understanding competitive landscape, their strategy, activities and impact
  • Share market analysis with relevant stakeholders on an ongoing basis (e.g. market size, growth/decline, competitor shares, competitor analysis, customer insight summaries).
  • Recommend appropriate action course for Medical & Pharma verticals, align the team and translate decisions into actionable marketing plans


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS


1. Formal Qualifications and Experience
  • > 5 years marketing experience in an international matrix environment (B2B preferred)
  • Demonstrated success with key marketing processes (e.g. strategic planning, competitive analysis, market research, new product development and launch, pricing strategies etc.)
  • Product knowledge and previous experience of the Healthcare packaging industry and/or end market is a clear plus
  • Proven track record in aligning and maintaining organizational focus on Customer, new product introductions and product portfolio management
  • Fluent English. Additional European languages (e.g. German, French, Spanish) are highly recommended

2. Education and Certifications
  • Business/Marketing academic background
  • Business School Graduate and or Master Degree with specialisation in Marketing, Finance or Supply Chain / Manufacturing

  • Demonstrated experience operating / engaging at senior management level, guiding key business decisions
